Mountain Dew, now with AI!

✨ But seriously, AI doesn’t need more stars. ✨

Something I’ve noticed across the software world lately: everyone seems to be sprinkling ✨stars✨ on everything to show “this has AI.”

The irony? Today, AI is no longer a “special feature.” It’s becoming table stakes — integrated into almost every category of software. When we overemphasize it with symbols or sparkles, it can actually dilute the message. Instead of making the capability feel trustworthy and powerful, it risks coming across as gimmicky or even raising doubts about whether the AI really works.

The opportunity is bigger than decoration.

🔹 Show the outcome your AI creates.

🔹 Highlight the problems it solves.

🔹 Tell stories about how real people benefit.

That’s where differentiation happens. Not in stars, but in clarity.

And just because it has stars on the label… doesn’t mean it has AI (or that the AI is good).

Not everything that glitters is gold. Sometimes it’s just Mountain Dew with a sticker.
