Focus Issue Solution

If you read my last blog about the focus issues I was having, you will be happy to know that I found a solution! I had to go to my local Phase One camera shop (Bear Images) where I purchase my gear and the phase one expert Jim took time to trouble shoot the issue.

Turns out that with the Leaf Aptus II-6 was having a hard time focusing with the Phase One camera bodies. This is probably an issue of an old back with an old body. We decided to put a Phase One P25 camera back on my 645AF body and the issue was solved!

I did a test with the P25 back once I got home and even though it is 6 mega pixels short of the Leaf Aptus II-6, the image quality is just as sharp!

Not only is the quality of the image almost the same in comparison and the focus issue is resolved, the P25 is much lighter and more streamlined than the bulky Leaf (Im sure that once Phase One bought Leaf and came out with the IQ series backs they made them much better).

I enjoyed shooting with the Leaf but after just a few shots with the P25 im super glad I switched.
